How It Works:
Nature’s Sunshine Artemisia Combination contains eight traditional herbs used for the digestion and intestinal systems. Artemisia is the name of a large family of plants (between 200 and 400 species) belonging to the daisy family. Two artemisia species in this combination—mugwort and wormwood—have been highly valued for millennia in both Europe and throughout Asia. Roman centurions were said to place mugwort in their sandals to keep the soles of their feet in good health. Physicians, up to the 1800s, relied on mugwort as a prized herb for various conditions. In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) wormwood, or ‘qing hao’ in Chinese, has been in recorded use since about 168 BC. In TCM, wormwood was thought to invigorate the internal organs. It was traditionally taken as a digestive system tonic and laxative.
